<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zF_AoPUQav0/V_l6XY-_V3I/AAAAAAAAN4c/iCtwZROLZNgXKvkKYXQ_ttYYHyuHER8twCEw/s1600/IMG_0809.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zF_AoPUQav0/V_l6XY-_V3I/AAAAAAAAN4c/iCtwZROLZNgXKvkKYXQ_ttYYHyuHER8twCEw/s400/IMG_0809.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
It's crazy to think that Noah is now able to walk with us and enjoy the woods that we have spent many years exploring.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_qA4PYUS8ek/V_l6W9kja8I/AAAAAAAAN4Q/5HYA21r7_LYhVjaX3nBcFakSWxtthFwowCLcB/s1600/IMG_0707.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_qA4PYUS8ek/V_l6W9kja8I/AAAAAAAAN4Q/5HYA21r7_LYhVjaX3nBcFakSWxtthFwowCLcB/s400/IMG_0707.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
It really genuinely does just seem like a moment ago that he was born, but now he really is a little boy, full of zest and adventure!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Yibeip1BGyA/V_l7TF_hFDI/AAAAAAAAN4k/1ExqOukSAUcoGm5eVcATjbAZuSvORNKZACLcB/s1600/IMG_0652.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Yibeip1BGyA/V_l7TF_hFDI/AAAAAAAAN4k/1ExqOukSAUcoGm5eVcATjbAZuSvORNKZACLcB/s400/IMG_0652.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
It's lovely to watch his character develop, although he is exhausting as he genuinely doesn't sit still very loing and wants to get involved in everything, he certainly keeps everyone on their toes!<br />

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LPdVC-AAJtQ/V-eZnLUf0mI/AAAAAAAAN3I/2jKeV92wLKwD2oMTZhR9kCzkvWGe8oL7QCLcB/s1600/weeds.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LPdVC-AAJtQ/V-eZnLUf0mI/AAAAAAAAN3I/2jKeV92wLKwD2oMTZhR9kCzkvWGe8oL7QCLcB/s640/weeds.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Weeds... messy and unloved, overlooked and a little lost.<br />
<br />
But there is beauty there when you look at it from the right angle.<br />
<br />
That's pretty much how my blog is at the moment.<br />
<br />
Sometimes life gets busy and I've just not had the time to come over here, but I do miss this little corner of the internet.<br />
<br />
So a catch up....<br />
<br />
My eldest turns 15 soon.... fifteen.<br />
<br />
My youngest will be two just before that, and with a 13 year old and a 9 year old in between life is certainly busy. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PPtEyo6xuCU/V-g5bFNRBRI/AAAAAAAAN3Y/V3LyjHKUYIQPKex73Sj8EXqzdttUpD4CgCLcB/s1600/IMG_5851.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PPtEyo6xuCU/V-g5bFNRBRI/AAAAAAAAN3Y/V3LyjHKUYIQPKex73Sj8EXqzdttUpD4CgCLcB/s320/IMG_5851.JPG" width="319" /></a></div>
<br />
In the past two years life has been somewhat hectic, I got a job for Netmums which I loved, then I had Noah, and now I'm working as a dinner lady for a local secondary school but also working hard on my freelance graphics designs.<br />
<br />
But also being a mum to four I am lucky if I get time to breath let alone do much of anything else!<br />
<br />
Noah is a amazingly fun but he is exhausting in equal measures. He still breastfeeds and co sleeps, although he sleeps fine I only really get a hazy nights sleep, I do love having him close and I know these years pass faster than you can imagine but still sleepless nights are hardwork!<br />
<br />
So that's where we are... muddling through this roller coaster of life, rocking with the twists and turns and hoping the thrills outway the fear.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8rfZ_8SrgjY/V-b-tbHVcgI/AAAAAAAAN24/adzOCYFgk1IXFoTKSyqdolMOa1ds_D3jQCLcB/s1600/autumn%2Beye%2Bspy%2Bthumbnail.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="390" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8rfZ_8SrgjY/V-b-tbHVcgI/AAAAAAAAN24/adzOCYFgk1IXFoTKSyqdolMOa1ds_D3jQCLcB/s640/autumn%2Beye%2Bspy%2Bthumbnail.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This print out sheet I have created is great for learning all about the autumn animals and vegetables you can see around this time of year, it is great free resource to have to help children learn the names of some of the common creatures and vegetables - <br />
<br />
Can they spot a Robin? Where are the pumpkins? How many ants can you see? What colour is the apple? Can you see the turnip? What do you think the hedgehog would like to eat?<br />
<br />
There are so many ways you can use this fun print out sheet. A simple eye spy - where you say the name of the vegetable or animal and the child has to point it out, or you can use the more common eye spy method where you and the child use the sheet to help think of things 'eye spy something beginning with L.....' (leek)<br />
<br />
You can also use this fun sheet to provock discussions, simply talk through what you can see.<br />
<br />
However you decided to use this sheet I do hope you have as much fun with it as we have!<br />
<br />
To print this sheet out simply right click and save the image to your computer then print as many times as you require!<br />
<br />

<br />
I can't quite believe how quickly this year is passing, October is creeping up quicker and quicker, and with it the changing seasons, I must admit I love Autumn, the colours, the changes in nature, the weather. Even when its getting a little cooler it is still nice enough to grab a jumper and get out side!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b8Qvq-N9MUg/V-bz5kObowI/AAAAAAAAN2M/Evr3mbvYxJYA1XOy_SqTg7hKfZa4BxzQQCLcB/s1600/life%2Bbetter%2Bgarden.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b8Qvq-N9MUg/V-bz5kObowI/AAAAAAAAN2M/Evr3mbvYxJYA1XOy_SqTg7hKfZa4BxzQQCLcB/s320/life%2Bbetter%2Bgarden.png" width="257" /></a></div>
<br />
We are very much an out doors family, spending a lot of our time outside I am always thinking up things to entertain the children, one of their favorite things is to go on a treasure hunt, they never seem to tire of finding bugs and beasties or blowing a dandelion clock.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-du9L4FdgjuM/V-bz721UzhI/AAAAAAAAN2Q/42o78QxBv_0c9Ntfd-V-emdB8x51jTQIwCLcB/s1600/12247767_10153756681591057_6814457529529830356_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-du9L4FdgjuM/V-bz721UzhI/AAAAAAAAN2Q/42o78QxBv_0c9Ntfd-V-emdB8x51jTQIwCLcB/s640/12247767_10153756681591057_6814457529529830356_o.jpg" width="640" /></a> <br />
I have created this free to print out - Autumn treasure hunt, which is one of our favorites, the children love to see who can find all the things first, or we simply use it as a guide when we are walking, helping us point out some of the things we see at this time of year.<br />
<br />
If you would like to print this Treasure hunt simply right click and save the image below to your computer and print out as many times as you require!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It's a great way to help the children learn about nature and the changing seasons, the printable guide gives them something to look at to encourage them to get outside.A great free activity for everyone at home, after school or any time!<br />

<br />
So wow, how time slips by...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M9_g6ET6GR0/Vu8fMH7l2SI/AAAAAAAAN1s/lVXZ67N4frwO6WaT6kve889TJTOHQLbkQ/s1600/birthday1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M9_g6ET6GR0/Vu8fMH7l2SI/AAAAAAAAN1s/lVXZ67N4frwO6WaT6kve889TJTOHQLbkQ/s640/birthday1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
My three become four, my tiny newborn has already had his 1st birthday... my eldest is now 14... fourteen.... how on earth did that happen?!<br />
<br />
So, dear blog, I am so sorry I have been so sporadic with my commitment, so useless with keeping on top.<br />
<br />
I do love the moments I have captured over the years, and I know that I really don't want the records, the memories, the fun to just stop being recorded.<br />
<br />
I am not going to promise to try harder, I really really am the worst at sticking to promises, but please do bear with me whilst I do my best to get back into the swing of blogging my everyday moments, my favourite memories and everything else in between.Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-69597427456717470232015-09-19T13:22:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.398+00:00Weaning Weaning tends to be hotly debated by parents and can become something which can cause alot of worry for new and more experienced mums a like. Many parents worry which method is best and how to combat a fussy sweet toothed baby.<br /><br />Noah is now 9 months old and has been enjoying food for a few months now. He will happily eat a wide range of foods tastes and textures.<br /><br />We took a nice relaxed baby led weaning approach. introducing him to food at his own speed and allowing him to decided how much he wanted to eat.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v7cgmVrseaM/Vf1Pkc-OQ_I/AAAAAAAANzk/E6upM7gL5vU/s1600/baby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v7cgmVrseaM/Vf1Pkc-OQ_I/AAAAAAAANzk/E6upM7gL5vU/s640/baby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />As Noah is breastfed, he still gets a lot of his nutrition from breast milk and I intend on feeding him for a while longer, at least until his 1st birthday, so following the mantra 'food is fun until your one' I have been relaxed around how much he actually swallows.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nD_hSRma_R0/Vf1PkQ_yoJI/AAAAAAAANzg/GbJGUMAnCG8/s1600/baby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nD_hSRma_R0/Vf1PkQ_yoJI/AAAAAAAANzg/GbJGUMAnCG8/s640/baby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B6.jpg" width="640" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>We started offering finger foods around the 6 month age mark, he could sit unaided at this point and grab and put food into his mouth.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-njQDIc83jlo/Vf1PlKRFisI/AAAAAAAANzs/17kYk6lpZhY/s1600/bannana%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-njQDIc83jlo/Vf1PlKRFisI/AAAAAAAANzs/17kYk6lpZhY/s640/bannana%2B2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />All food we ate as a family (within reason) was offered, toasted bread fingers, cooked apples, pears bananas, strawberries, mashed potato, broccoli, carrots rice and pasta.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V0TNFDlJ01E/Vf1PlcdiTtI/AAAAAAAANz0/iR7xtduoioY/s1600/chicken%2Brice%2Bbaby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V0TNFDlJ01E/Vf1PlcdiTtI/AAAAAAAANz0/iR7xtduoioY/s640/chicken%2Brice%2Bbaby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Initially small tastes were offered and Noah spent more time playing with the food than eating it, now however at 9 months old the mess is slowly reducing as he actually eats the food much more efficiently.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IDu099rL-ns/Vf1Pl_F2t5I/AAAAAAAANzw/Jnq1RH7m8N4/s1600/chocolate%2Bbiscuit%2Bbaby%2Bweaning.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IDu099rL-ns/Vf1Pl_F2t5I/AAAAAAAANzw/Jnq1RH7m8N4/s640/chocolate%2Bbiscuit%2Bbaby%2Bweaning.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />The bonus to taking a baby led weaning approach for us have been the ease and relaxed nature, if going out and about there is no worry about packing something for Noah, he has breastmilk if needed and can swipe some bread from a sandwich or a sausage roll or piece of fruit to munch on.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2qD-oF8xZvc/Vf1PmCepg_I/AAAAAAAANz4/CKxYUnrasNk/s1600/weetabix%2Bbreakfast.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2qD-oF8xZvc/Vf1PmCepg_I/AAAAAAAANz4/CKxYUnrasNk/s640/weetabix%2Bbreakfast.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />At home, whilst cooking the meal for the family it is a great way to keep him happy and entertained, a few peas on his highchair give me time to dish up everyone elses meal, a slice of toast in the mornings allow me to ensure the others get their breakfast, freeing up my hands by letting him feed himself I have found it to be a great time saver. The only negative being the mess!<br /><br />For us baby led weaning has been enjoyable and stress free, we have not experienced any trouble with gagging or chocking, ensuring the food initially was finger sized and cooked to a soft consistancy meant he could manage it well, as he has got more expeirenced he loves smaller pieces such as garden peas and sweet corn, chererios, and cut up fruit. He also is happier with tougher food such as meat and crackers.<br /><br />If you are starting out on the weaning journey it can seem like there are so many things to think about, my number one piece of advice would be to relax and go with the flow. try not to worry about the amount of food your baby is eating, and try to offer them finger food <b>after</b> a milk feed so they are not really hungry which can result in getting frustrated at the speed of the meal, eating food takes longer and is not as instantly satisfying as drinking milk or puree.<br /><br />Remember to let your baby have fun and try not to interveen, leave them to explore the food at their own pace. They will learn to chew before they swallow which may mean to start with food is put in their mouth and spit out again, as soon as they get the hang of chewing then swallowing they find meal times more satisfying and a wider range of food can be offered.<br /><br />here is a video of Noah having some first tastes<br /><br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kxzN2fIPR1U" width="560"></iframe>Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-29952154949074654772015-08-26T13:23:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.359+00:00Dismaland - Questions - Answered!We were lucky enough to get to go into Dismaland yesterday - and had a truly fantastic time.<br /><br />I recommend it to everyone. There seems to be a bit of mystery around the event and everyone seems to have a question, so I thought I would put together a question and answer style post which will hopefully be handy to those who are planning on going themselves.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>What is Dismaland? </b></span><br />Dismaland is an interactive art exhibition, situated at Western Super Mare, UK<br />With art on display from over 50 artists from all over the world, including Banksy, situated in an old Lido - the Tropicano which once housed an open air swimming pool. Banksy said 'This event is so much more than just an art show, well, two things more. It's got a bar and a cinema. Think of this as a fairground that embraces brutality and low level criminality - so a fairground then. Here you are encouraged to consider not just consume, to look, not just spectate and most importantly of all beware of uneven floor surfaces.' - See a full list of artists and other information on the website <a href="http://www.dismaland.co.uk/">www.dismaland.co.uk</a><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DUt5ejdboOg/Vd2qRaUgv_I/AAAAAAAANxs/-WOEKTd8o2o/s1600/banksy%2Bdismaland%2Bsand%2Bcastle.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DUt5ejdboOg/Vd2qRaUgv_I/AAAAAAAANxs/-WOEKTd8o2o/s640/banksy%2Bdismaland%2Bsand%2Bcastle.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: x-large;">Is it suitable for young children?</span><br /><br />We took my 4 children, aged 13, 12, 8 and 8 months.<br /><br />The art is of an dark nature, so it may be worth having a look to see if you are comfortable with that before taking along your children.<br /><br />Some swearing is present on certain posters, and there are scenes depicting death and other subjects which you may want to talk over.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-An9UUKl89FQ/Vd2EbcTRmsI/AAAAAAAANxg/eMubttSaFYU/s1600/crashdismaland.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-An9UUKl89FQ/Vd2EbcTRmsI/AAAAAAAANxg/eMubttSaFYU/s640/crashdismaland.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />But for the very young these simply go over their heads, for the older children it is a great way to introduce them to some fantastic art works, the staff are amazing and were nothing but great with my children, taking the time to entertain them in their dismal uninterested yet very attentive way.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A3PRf1xWqTs/Vd2sMrM7dII/AAAAAAAANyA/Ohr_0c1Nnjo/s1600/dismaland%2Bgroup%2Bstaff.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A3PRf1xWqTs/Vd2sMrM7dII/AAAAAAAANyA/Ohr_0c1Nnjo/s640/dismaland%2Bgroup%2Bstaff.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Upon entering you get lead through a security section, the staff there were particularly great with the children, making them stand on one leg, hop, place hands over their faces then smile at the camera -that sort of thing, they also spoke to my 8 month old son, scanning him and asking him to ensure all adults are supervised at all times- a great start to the whole experience.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZqC9SuKi_GE/Vd2qd46H4pI/AAAAAAAANx0/CmnKbJNsZ6k/s1600/cardboard%2Broom%2Bsecurity%2Bdismaland.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZqC9SuKi_GE/Vd2qd46H4pI/AAAAAAAANx0/CmnKbJNsZ6k/s640/cardboard%2Broom%2Bsecurity%2Bdismaland.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Once inside it is very much a fairground - and you can interact with the stalls, have a go on hook a duck from the muck, and topple the anvil, again the staff at these attractions ere wonderfully entertaining with the children, making the experiences so much more rewarding than an average fairground stall, there is also a childrens corner too with sandy play area... and childrens pay pocket money loans. Brilliant from all ages.<br /><br /><span id="goog_430164091"></span><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-toyZF_1idfw/Vd2sZDvEQdI/AAAAAAAANyI/Bjd_ENaq5PU/s1600/babies%2Bat%2Bdismaland.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-toyZF_1idfw/Vd2sZDvEQdI/AAAAAAAANyI/Bjd_ENaq5PU/s640/babies%2Bat%2Bdismaland.png" width="640" /></a></div><span id="goog_430164090"></span><br /><span style="font-size: x-large;">How long do you need to visit?</span><br /><br />The doors open at 11am then again at 6pm for the evening till 11pm.<br /><br />We had over 4 hours there but could have stayed longer - there is no time limit to the day and once passed the security entrance you are free to go about your day the way you wish too, there is a one way system around the castle and certain art exhibits but everything else is free to wander around as you see fit, you can stay as long as you want, and there truly is so much to see and do.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mriUTZr0Mjo/Vd2tEOol8CI/AAAAAAAANyU/8xM7WgmU7S8/s1600/horse%2Bscaffolding%2Bdismland.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mriUTZr0Mjo/Vd2tEOol8CI/AAAAAAAANyU/8xM7WgmU7S8/s640/horse%2Bscaffolding%2Bdismland.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: x-large;">Can you take your own food?</span><br /><br />I think officially they would rather you didn't - there is places inside to purchase food, although we simply didn't have the time to do that, before purchasing your ticket your bags are checked, and there was mention that you have to disguard food which I read online in other sources of information, however I took in my picnic bits (drinks and sandwiches) and nothing was said about that.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-large;">What is disabled access like?</span><br /><br />The floor in the que area is muddy, slippy and generally rather unpleasant to push a wheel chair or pushchair, but is not totally in accessible. Inside there is uneven surfaces, wood chips in some of the exhibit tents and general steps up and down certain areas, however there is certainly plenty you can easily access with a wheelchair/pushchair so even with the bits which may be off limits there is still a lot of reasons to see the rest.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-large;">How much additional money will you need?</span><br />Days out can often quickly become expensive when you add up all the little extras can't they?<br /><br />The price to enter is a very affordable and very worth while £3, then once you're inside you don't need to purchase or spend anything else at all to enjoy the visit, but there are a few things available, the big 'I am an imbe-cile' balloons which gloomy staff wonder around holding ARE for sale and can be purchased for £5 if you can catch up with the staff.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZWbJHHCTJE0/Vd2uAe9cIwI/AAAAAAAANyg/Gb94rquc6VY/s1600/i%2Bam%2Ban%2Bimbicile.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZWbJHHCTJE0/Vd2uAe9cIwI/AAAAAAAANyg/Gb94rquc6VY/s640/i%2Bam%2Ban%2Bimbicile.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />The attractions are all working and should you wish too you can play the mini golf, ride the Ferris wheel, and try to win on the hook a duck, shoot out and topple the anvil, these cost between £1 and £2 a go.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xfQ8rYb7mfg/Vd2uycd5E4I/AAAAAAAANyo/D0cyQioZ9Bg/s1600/mikey%2Bhook%2Ba%2Bduck.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xfQ8rYb7mfg/Vd2uycd5E4I/AAAAAAAANyo/D0cyQioZ9Bg/s640/mikey%2Bhook%2Ba%2Bduck.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />On the way out there is a gift shop- inside there are prints to purchase and T.shirts which cost £10 for a children size and £20 for an adult.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IFBeah6xkjY/Vd2u-MVIfRI/AAAAAAAANyw/VZ8_xEQ32ko/s1600/smiley%2Bfaces%2Bdismaland.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IFBeah6xkjY/Vd2u-MVIfRI/AAAAAAAANyw/VZ8_xEQ32ko/s640/smiley%2Bfaces%2Bdismaland.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Paper guides are handed to you as you enter, official more indepth guides can be brought for £5<br /><br />Over all it is a very affordable day out and great value for money.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: x-large;">Great, so where can you get tickets?</span><br /><br />That's the big question isn't it? - We simply turned up and were lucky to not have to wait too long, you can read how we got tickets here :<a href="http://www.todaysmoments.co.uk/2015/08/banksy-dismaland-how-did-we-get-tickets.html" target="_blank"> How we got tickets to Dismaland</a><br /><br />However there is no guarantee of Que time or tickets being available on the door.<br /><br />Online tickets are being made available in blocks - keep an eye on the official website, and do not buy from anywhere else as ID may be needed to prove purchase from official site. <a href="http://www.dismaland.co.uk/">www.dismaland.co.uk</a> <br /><br />You can also get up to date information on twitter from the official Dismaland stream <a href="https://twitter.com/DismalandWSM" target="_blank">@dismalandwsm</a><br /><br /><br />And if after all that you have time, you can brave the winds and western weather and sit on the beach... but beware of the sinking mud! So when I saw a local coach company offering trips to Western Super Mare I thought 'oh that is a good way to get out for the day in the school holidays', booked up my tickets and didn't think much more of it.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fAHODqAGY38/Vd2CxAa_o0I/AAAAAAAANxE/AU5RHUT20Vg/s1600/DSCN3106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fAHODqAGY38/Vd2CxAa_o0I/AAAAAAAANxE/AU5RHUT20Vg/s640/DSCN3106.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />Then the news broke that Banksy had installed a new attraction on the seafront, surrounded by excitement and mystery. I couldn't believe it when it said this was at Western Super Mare an otherwise fairly quiet seaside town and so I eagerly read what was there.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uShD-d4vhmY/Vd2CrbwgjRI/AAAAAAAANw4/Sx9ol0u7TEw/s1600/dismaland%2Bcastle.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="412" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uShD-d4vhmY/Vd2CrbwgjRI/AAAAAAAANw4/Sx9ol0u7TEw/s640/dismaland%2Bcastle.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />The news articles sounded fantastic the photos popping up online looked incredible, I tried helplessly to get tickets so we could be sure to go in ourselves, along with seemingly millions of other people!<br /><br />The tickets website crashed (or was simply never going to deliver tickets on that opening day) and I was left like all others scratching my head and wondering what was happening.<br /><br />The next few days I scoured the internet looking for real information, what was it like inside? could children go? and most importantly how likely were you to be able to get inside if you turned up at the door?<br /><br />News broke that tickets would go on sale online from Tuesday lunch - great we were heading there on Tuesday... but I wouldn't have a laptop handy, and needed a ticket for the daytime not evening. No way of securing tickets before this point.<br /><br />I figured this could be a blessing, as people waited at home to book their tickets could we perhaps get lucky by being at the door?<br /><br />So with a glimmer of hope we set off on the coach, it took us 4 hours to arrive, and I had become unsure of our chances of getting inside dismaland, arriving after dinner not ideal when ques could be hours long, I told my three older children not to expect guaranteed entry and to remember we had booked this day trip without even knowing about dismaland in the hope to avert from serious disappointment.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8yFazE3KAFk/Vd2CK9wXJGI/AAAAAAAANwE/WewAeJivrtU/s1600/chloe%2Bnoah%2Bcoach.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8yFazE3KAFk/Vd2CK9wXJGI/AAAAAAAANwE/WewAeJivrtU/s640/chloe%2Bnoah%2Bcoach.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />As it happened we drove past the entrance of Dismaland and parked up a few meters away, the ticket booth looked open but not busy, the ques certainly looked manageable in a short time frame.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-93D-V1My0_w/Vd2DMiXC8QI/AAAAAAAANxI/MpX2-BV3UhM/s1600/staff%2Bat%2Bdismaland.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-93D-V1My0_w/Vd2DMiXC8QI/AAAAAAAANxI/MpX2-BV3UhM/s640/staff%2Bat%2Bdismaland.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />We went straight off the coach, at around 1pm, towards the ticket booth, £3 entry each - a real bargain, the trickest part was navigating through the mud and twisted barriers, with only a handful of people ahead of us we quickly had stamped wrists and were ready to enter the second section of metal railings and join the main que.<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KD-8KTQxNok/Vd2CMHHjJmI/AAAAAAAANwk/kFba0Sj08XQ/s1600/dismaland%2Bticket%2Bstamp%2Bpass.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="374" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KD-8KTQxNok/Vd2CMHHjJmI/AAAAAAAANwk/kFba0Sj08XQ/s640/dismaland%2Bticket%2Bstamp%2Bpass.png" width="640" /></a> This moved slowly with only a handful being allowed in at a time, there was possibly 100 people ahead of us, not a massive que by any means. They are fun play with and all ages love them.<br /><br />Have a look here as we have fun growing and playing with thousands of orbeez. even tipping pouring them into the bath!<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MIOAiaRVQ5M" width="560"></iframe>Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-91803932738605031982015-08-11T22:31:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.420+00:008 months old...Noah you're now 8 months old.<br /><br />You are growing so very fast and finding your own personality more and more.<br />The last month has once again seen you jump in leaps and bounds with the things you can do.<br /><br />You love to snuggle and are happiest close to someone, but your fast becoming more independent.<br /><br />You now have two teeth at the bottom and often suck in your bottom lip pulling such serious yet funny faces. <br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q3mGI4FMDIg/Vcpr7fHtuAI/AAAAAAAANvI/nV4BqMjcdPw/s1600/noah%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q3mGI4FMDIg/Vcpr7fHtuAI/AAAAAAAANvI/nV4BqMjcdPw/s640/noah%2B1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>You adore your siblings and you look for them all the time, and light up every time they enter the room. But I don't think I'm doing too bad as I'm happy to miss a few days - it doesn't seem possible to find time every single day.<br /><br />Yes there are hours when I sit with my laptop but I am so tired I can't function enough to do much more than stare longingly at the screen and watch other people seemingly having much more fun on Facebook. I certain don't seem t be able to concentrate enough to string sentences together.<br /><br />So what has actually been happening?<br /><br />The past few days have been engulfed with car MOT's (fails and retests) garden updates and sleepless nights - Thanks Noah!<br /><br />The first week of the holidays and we haven't actually done a great deal, the children have spent alot of time on Plants Vs Zombies (the original game) and have once again set their minds to a marathan to complete the adventure mode. I must admit I do love that game and can get addicted to it too.<br /><br />Noah has cut two bottom front teeth, although he's not been terribly upset with them, he has been a little off his food - which means he's been up on his breastmilk - which is fine, but tiring for me, especially through the night.<br /><br />We have added a gate to the garden to separate an area for the dogs, which Mikey thinks is a climbing frame, and his love for climbing has given me an idea for the wall(add some foot rests to make it an abseiling/bouldering wall) but I am not sure how or if we will actually put that into place.<br /><br />Anyway thats my time up, Noah is grumbling at my feet so I'll leave this here.Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-85987358471022807272015-07-27T21:35:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.410+00:00Waiting for SummerToday is the first official day of the summer holiday here, with the children now being off school.<br /><br />I love having them home, I love the late nights, lazy mornings, the no homework relaxed nature the holidays bring.<br /><br />I would say I love the warm days the sun, swimming pools, sun glasses and ice creams.<br /><br />But unfortunately the weather has other ideas as the past few days its been cold and wet and not summery at all. <br /><br />Which is a shame.<br /><br />I wonder if we already had the summer? What with the odd hot day last month. Maybe that was our lot.<br /><br />It really was lovely and warm. In our excitement and hope for a hot summer we brought a 8ft pool for the garden, along with the filter system and cleaners to ensure it can stay up and clean all summer long.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iWMPJr5-weQ/VbaU2dFVozI/AAAAAAAANso/Yutfl_ai9Ng/s1600/pool3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="boys playing in pool " border="0" height="478" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iWMPJr5-weQ/VbaU2dFVozI/AAAAAAAANso/Yutfl_ai9Ng/s640/pool3.png" title="8ft frame pool" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5iCNx4riRDM/VbaU3bao9vI/AAAAAAAANsw/NxWkcnDcdVc/s1600/pool4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="garden pool playing outside" border="0" height="478" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5iCNx4riRDM/VbaU3bao9vI/AAAAAAAANsw/NxWkcnDcdVc/s640/pool4.png" title="fun summer paddling pool" width="640" /></a></div><br />The kids love it, swimming and splashing around with the snorkels and floats and I hope that the sun does com back so we can enjoy it again.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wbtA8rQujEA/VbaU2Usmt7I/AAAAAAAANsk/3oYum5J6tMA/s1600/pool2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="playing with snorkels and floats in the pool" border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wbtA8rQujEA/VbaU2Usmt7I/AAAAAAAANsk/3oYum5J6tMA/s640/pool2.png" title="snorkels and floats in the pool" width="640" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yTWhJ_kUqkw/VbaU2REpD1I/AAAAAAAANss/_KMb-xlWrVs/s1600/pool1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="boys swimming in the paddling pool" border="0" height="478" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yTWhJ_kUqkw/VbaU2REpD1I/AAAAAAAANss/_KMb-xlWrVs/s640/pool1.png" title="boys swimming" width="640" /></a></div><br />Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-9156585605112852942015-07-26T18:45:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.418+00:00Silent Sunday<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IzKqke5KVOw/VbUclzn8A9I/AAAAAAAANsQ/a8y08G1-tQ4/s1600/lollypoplady%2Bthanks.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IzKqke5KVOw/VbUclzn8A9I/AAAAAAAANsQ/a8y08G1-tQ4/s640/lollypoplady%2Bthanks.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-70925329172939358242015-07-25T12:31:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.402+00:00School tripsThe last week of term for my eldest two, who are both in seior school, is enrichment week.<br /><br />Which means they get a choice of school trips.<br /><br />When I was at school I never went on any residential, I didn't mind too much, not alot of my friends went either, but still when Jake started seniors last year and the chance to go to France was offered I really wanted to give him the opportunity to go, travel and see new things.<br /><br />So he went to France last year as a year 7 He went along with his friends and came home having had the best time. It marked the end of the new year, the start of his journey into the teenage years and his growing independence. (you can read the blog I wrote last year here : <a href="http://www.todaysmoments.co.uk/2014/08/starting-secondary-school-one-year-on.html" target="_blank">starting secondary school - one year on</a>)<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IhsiDqUX9GQ/VbNme1RB5CI/AAAAAAAANq0/9KVUCI6jJaU/s1600/jake%2Bfrance%2Btrip%2B2014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IhsiDqUX9GQ/VbNme1RB5CI/AAAAAAAANq0/9KVUCI6jJaU/s640/jake%2Bfrance%2Btrip%2B2014.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />This year Chloe started seniors and so she too got the chance to go to France, and Jake as a year 8 went to London.<br /><br />School trips are quite expesive, the France trip cost £360 and the London trip £165 add on the spending money and any additional clothes/shoes they want to take along and it's certainly not a cheap option.<br /><br />We try to live frugally, we don't have a huge income, so I took up the offer to pay in installments and Jake used his own paper round money to take along as spending money.<br /><br />But waying up the positives to going on a school trip and I think it is worth the expense.<br /><br />Chloe France trip, the same as Jakes the year before consisted of crossing the channel on a ferry, visiting a snail farm and baking croissants in a local bakery.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V2PRsgyhcBc/VbNylaLN8lI/AAAAAAAANrs/RkO2Z1-L9dY/s1600/french%2Btrip%2Bchloe%2B2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V2PRsgyhcBc/VbNylaLN8lI/AAAAAAAANrs/RkO2Z1-L9dY/s640/french%2Btrip%2Bchloe%2B2.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Joining a French school and taking part in sports with the children and of course visiting local markets and attractions such as the beach!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZE3pxekv4mU/VbNylcAWjLI/AAAAAAAANrw/Ukz2VTccACo/s1600/cloe%2Bfrance%2B2015.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZE3pxekv4mU/VbNylcAWjLI/AAAAAAAANrw/Ukz2VTccACo/s640/cloe%2Bfrance%2B2015.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Jakes London trip saw him visit Ripleys Believe it or Not, watching street performers in Covent Gardens and a trip to the theater to see Wicked.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DF60UcV-n5w/VbNzitCvk6I/AAAAAAAANr8/va9eEC8T_nQ/s1600/jake%2Blondon%2B2015.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="194" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DF60UcV-n5w/VbNzitCvk6I/AAAAAAAANr8/va9eEC8T_nQ/s640/jake%2Blondon%2B2015.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Then a visit to Warner Brothers Studio and the Making of Harry Potter tour which he absolutely loved and hasn't stopped talking about since he returned.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f5Nf_Bj8eJw/VbNoAFW7WEI/AAAAAAAANrU/o28g6iATjb0/s1600/harry%2Bpotter%2Bjake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f5Nf_Bj8eJw/VbNoAFW7WEI/AAAAAAAANrU/o28g6iATjb0/s640/harry%2Bpotter%2Bjake.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />As I watched for updates on the schools social media channels, and waited for a call or text to let me know how they were I wished I was there along side them experiencing these new things, but I also smiled knowing that they were having fun building their own memories and experiences which I hope they hold onto for along time.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-87476205766525595492015-07-25T10:57:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.412+00:00Lets start again...New Year... New Blog... with a promise to actual get back into blogging.<br /><br /><br />Didn't really materialise very well did it? I have managed only a handful of posts so far this year.<br /><br />I am the worlds most un motivated person, I always have the thoughts about doing something but never seem to get round to completing anything!<br /><br />So once again I am publicly saying that I want to blog more, want to actually make time every day to put something here on the blog, it doesn't have to be hugely planned or amazingly constructed, just something, anything, every day.<br /><br />I want to record, share ad save the memories. I want to jot down things that interest me be they about the kids, myself or other things.<br /><br />Maybe I am being once again too ambitious, and I will be here again in another 6 months saying ah that didn't work out did it? But you never know.<br /><br />So from this day forward (for a while at least) I AM going to post every day... hopefully!<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9uyGzAb8Ot0/VbNdaxUsG9I/AAAAAAAANqk/XCyFpIWFoXo/s1600/DSCN2083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ncfOF8iNpQo/VZLPIy8v_sI/AAAAAAAANoI/tMAuPtO_AuY/s1600/noah%2Bwhite%2Bsleepsuit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ncfOF8iNpQo/VZLPIy8v_sI/AAAAAAAANoI/tMAuPtO_AuY/s640/noah%2Bwhite%2Bsleepsuit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Noah has spent most of his time so far in baby grows.<br /><span id="goog_917613876"></span><span id="goog_917613877"></span><br />He is of course now nearly 7 months, far beyond the newborn days.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Those newborn days are long gone.<br /><br />He is changing so much, maturing in his actions and his looks.<br /><br />How does time slip by so very quickly? Why haven't I recorded every moment , blogged more like I thought I would?<br /><br />Sometimes the now and the here really are the only important things I guess and writing down these ordinary moments as much as I want them for the memories at the tim the ordinary moments simply don't seem necersary to record.<br /><br />Each day seems to pass in a blur, it goes from morning to night in a heartbeat.<br /><br /><br />Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-67734608632441242572015-06-02T21:02:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.396+00:006 month updateHalf a year already, it has flown past, really truly flown.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I wrote recently about no really having a routine, and how the evenings in particular and sleeping generally was the area which I was unsure about, well since writing that post things have changed.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qBE6E8-Zzd0/VW4KLvfKCHI/AAAAAAAANlk/u1zMcAF-kck/s1600/noah%2Bcutie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qBE6E8-Zzd0/VW4KLvfKCHI/AAAAAAAANlk/u1zMcAF-kck/s640/noah%2Bcutie.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Day times are still un routined with naps in my arms or the pushchair, but evenings are slowly getting more organised, Noah has been joining in with the evenings meals which means he is so messy he needs a bath, so that slows everyone else down and forces me to spend that time sorting Noah, after his bath he then has a feed and falls asleep in my arms but I put him down in his cot and he stays asleep, not all night, but until 1 or 2am- which means I am hands free more in the evenings now.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MJPho37pxwM/VW4KMwe_woI/AAAAAAAANls/ZbMxhjazuiQ/s1600/noah%2Bsleeping.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MJPho37pxwM/VW4KMwe_woI/AAAAAAAANls/ZbMxhjazuiQ/s640/noah%2Bsleeping.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Talking of the evening meal - that's probably the biggest milestone we've reached this month, slowly introducing bits of food.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bIStBPFNrFs/VW4LGrYr-qI/AAAAAAAANmM/wUIAT1rIz7g/s1600/baby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bIStBPFNrFs/VW4LGrYr-qI/AAAAAAAANmM/wUIAT1rIz7g/s640/baby%2Bled%2Bweaning%2B1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Mobility wise things are much the same as his last update, he is happiest sitting up and gets frustrated that he can't move too far for himself.<br /><br />He is full of giggles and is making more sounds now with more babas mamas and bubble blowing along with growling which I think is one of his favourites.<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/L4qL7bWIlI0" width="560"></iframe> <br />He is truly a happy little thing and seems to bring a smile to everyones face wooing anyone he sees, He is a true people magnet and where ever we go there is always someone cooing and gooing at him.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Monster High is a hugely popular doll range which seems to appeal to a wide age range and Chloe was really excited to be able to review Draculaura.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aQStbRAkhGg/VWocN1Gi7yI/AAAAAAAANko/f2DlI9n-Cxw/s1600/chloe%2Bmonster%2Bhigh.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aQStbRAkhGg/VWocN1Gi7yI/AAAAAAAANko/f2DlI9n-Cxw/s640/chloe%2Bmonster%2Bhigh.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Chloe is nearly 12 now, very nearly a teenager, she has never really been one to sit and play with dolls, and she is very difficult to buy presents for, I am always looking for gift ideas. <br />
<br />
It can be difficult once children reach a certain age and their interest in classic toys is lost replaced by a love for fashion and make up. The Monster High Dolls help bridge that gap.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y42kN7GW6QI/VWocN4OnCvI/AAAAAAAANkE/CSBvS7R_5BA/s1600/draculaura%2Bdoll%2Bghouls%2Boriginal%2B.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="442" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y42kN7GW6QI/VWocN4OnCvI/AAAAAAAANkE/CSBvS7R_5BA/s640/draculaura%2Bdoll%2Bghouls%2Boriginal%2B.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The dolls themselves are modeled on famous sci fi horror characters, such as Dracular, Frankenstein and Zombies.and have heaps of character and style.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TXsNVPG68Xs/VWocOx-_jkI/AAAAAAAANkM/9f4WxEg-fCM/s1600/monster%2Bhigh%2Bdolls.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="442" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TXsNVPG68Xs/VWocOx-_jkI/AAAAAAAANkM/9f4WxEg-fCM/s640/monster%2Bhigh%2Bdolls.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Since the release in 2010 there have also been many animated movies and other merchandise to complement the dolls.<br />
<br />
We were sent Draculaura to review, one of 4 in the the original ghoul series, Chloe loved the detail to the doll, her glittery eye shadow and pink hair highlights along with her bright pink clothes and black lipstick. She comes with a display stand too so you can stand her wherever you would like too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fotfyx98Ye0/VWocOor4WtI/AAAAAAAANkI/xA4kECAnqzI/s1600/monster%2Bhigh%2Bdisplay%2Bgirls%2Btoy%2Bbedrom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fotfyx98Ye0/VWocOor4WtI/AAAAAAAANkI/xA4kECAnqzI/s640/monster%2Bhigh%2Bdisplay%2Bgirls%2Btoy%2Bbedrom.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Her accessories include ear rings, necklace and boots all of which you can remove.<br />
<br />
Her hair is soft and can be easily styled. She is fully jointed so she can be posed into a whole range of positions and adds to the play factor. <br />

<br />
The age range is 6 and above, I can see young children really loving these dolls, with their cute but fearsome characters they bring about a really interesting imaginative world.<br />
<br />
They also hold their interest to the older girls as they are very stylish and not too babyish so can be proudly displayed in even a very fashion conscious tweenagers room.<br />

<br />
Priced around £17.99 these are not cheap toys but they really are good quality, and certainly impressed Chloe. If you are in need of gift ideas for any young girl, tween or teenager then certainly do take a look at the Monster High Dolls.<br />

But I am finding things especially hard to manage at the moment.<br /><br />Not the children per say, but for me, it seems the days simply do not have enough hours in them anymore.<br /><br />I know a routine may be needed in order for me to actually get something done without a baby in my arms or someone calling out 'mum'. <br /><br />Sleep is a particular area where there is no routine at all really and it is, I guess, the one area which I do need to alter.<br /><br />I also know that it is my own doing that have made Noah so much happier in my arms, as it is as much for my benefit as his, when I keep him close on my knee. <br /><br />I have never been a fan of daytime naps upstairs in cots, I simply don't like to leave Noah upstairs in the day time, I just can't bring myself to put him up in the room alone so far away from me, and he is too big for his moses basket now, so day time naps are on my knee, and as lovely as these snuggles are they are not helping Noahs independence and self settling abilities, instead he seems to be only truly content in my arms or within reach of me.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mKbrCHwpWvo/VWITBYQbigI/AAAAAAAANi8/WX7GH0jfQBg/s1600/DSCN0045.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mKbrCHwpWvo/VWITBYQbigI/AAAAAAAANi8/WX7GH0jfQBg/s640/DSCN0045.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />The snuggly night times are lovely too, it makes breastfeeding much easier having him in bed with me, but this means up until now I have not really thought much about a bedtime routine, the older children go to bed anywhere between 8.30 and 10pm and so Noah usually naps in the evenings after a feed in my arms until they are all in bed and by then when I do put him down, he normally wakes straight back up and I feed him again, then for my own ease I end up keeping him on my knee knowing that's where he will be settled and peaceful giving me a few hours to frantically tap away at my keyboard trying to get the work done that I have missed out when playing the day away.<br /><br />I know this stage like all others does not last forever and I try to remember this when I am still awake at midnight trying to get everything done that needs to be with a tied baby still on my knee.<br /><br />Somebody asked me the other day if he slept well, he does sleep well... providing he is with me. Does he sleep alone through the night - no.<br /><br />I'm constantly conflicted into if I do need to alter this, or is it simple OK as it is?<br /><br />On one hand I really do need some time in the evenings to get at least something done, and I guess having a few hours uninterrupted sleep would be nice, but on the other hand I am not sure how to change things or even if I really want to move past the baby in arms stage just yet.<br /><br />When the others were younger, night times were always organised even if the days were manic and lacked routine, I always said I could always cope with the days as nights were my time, tea bath bed for 7pm. I could give up the daylight hours whole heartily as I still had time to do everything else once the children were all asleep.<br /><br />I'm not quite sure whats happened but its been quite a while since that sort of evening routine was followed older children bring homework, a love for computer games and a reluctant to bath every night all of which have some what altered that organised evening sequence.<br /><br />But prior to Noah it didn't mater so much as with growing children the evenings may become busier but the daytimes get emptier and because I had the daytimes to myself evenings didn't seem so important. and therefore the evening routines slipped.<br /><br />So perhaps I need a new routine, how do I get some time to myself if day time is filled with the babyness that is so very important in these quick passing months, and my evenings filled with teenage troubles and my nights interrupted with co sleeping breastfeeding?<br /><br />I certainly won't get my evenings back fully when the older children still need me as well and they certainly don't want to go to bed at 7pm<br /><br />How do I make a routine work?<br />One which works for us all, one that works for teenagers and a baby, that gives me my time in the early evening as well as making sure everyone else has their own time and needs met.<br /><br />Or maybe there really isn't a need to change anything at all, perhaps I have been right with my no hard routines approach, because right now just for a little longer I am going to remember that Noah will only be small enough to fit in my arms for such a short time, I will continue to savoir each sleepy snuggle and gummy smile as he wakes up safe in my arms. Knowing that soon enough these days will have passed and a new normal will have worked itself out.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ie5N-yvvTNI/VWIz6aJgk2I/AAAAAAAANjk/IJIJnBQL8bY/s1600/night%2Btime.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ie5N-yvvTNI/VWIz6aJgk2I/AAAAAAAANjk/IJIJnBQL8bY/s640/night%2Btime.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829710682305692388.post-5495401060627854652015-05-12T13:26:00.000+01:002016-03-20T21:45:37.378+00:005 month UpdateFive months - wow.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Eq-7YLGkxoc/VVHu3_0DHlI/AAAAAAAANhY/OPJuByVDycg/s1600/summertime%2B3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Eq-7YLGkxoc/VVHu3_0DHlI/AAAAAAAANhY/OPJuByVDycg/s640/summertime%2B3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I find the time passing so very strange, in one sense it seems like Noah has been here for ages, in another I simply can't believe its 5 months already.<br /><br />With the passing months he is growing and changing and simply becoming a whole little person.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1A52Fn_LYzI/VVHvR6-GKMI/AAAAAAAANiA/lhXfdDsKxtw/s1600/bubbles%2B11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1A52Fn_LYzI/VVHvR6-GKMI/AAAAAAAANiA/lhXfdDsKxtw/s640/bubbles%2B11.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />The new born days are over now, he is certainly finding his place in the family. He is awake most of the day now, only napping for a short while (mainly on the school runs!)<br /><br />He is very chatty and giggles loudly at all sorts of things, he can roll front to back and back to front, so has some way to get around the floor, he also can sit independently up now which is his preferred pose, no longer content to be laying down he wants to be right in the center of things, demanding to be talked too and entertained.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_BE2qu4sSO0/VVHvOoo5Y7I/AAAAAAAANhw/S2GVJ8VIOcs/s1600/noah%2Bsitting%2Bup%2B.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_BE2qu4sSO0/VVHvOoo5Y7I/AAAAAAAANhw/S2GVJ8VIOcs/s640/noah%2Bsitting%2Bup%2B.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />It's bitter sweet the changes, the development, I love of course watching him grow, flourish and learn new things, we all marvel at the speed he seems to pick things up and cheer him on as he watches his siblings seemingly learning new things by the day.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7q0FXDr4t4Y/VVHvI0OFgQI/AAAAAAAANhk/f8dpqYi6Oiw/s1600/noah%2Blacey2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7q0FXDr4t4Y/VVHvI0OFgQI/AAAAAAAANhk/f8dpqYi6Oiw/s640/noah%2Blacey2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />But I know all too well that the passing days, every new milestone, takes away a little of the baby and as exciting as it is watching him grow it is also a little sad.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WVU4GxOlNHs/VVHvIgsgAVI/AAAAAAAANhg/EdFEGDsMha0/s1600/me%2Bnoah%2B3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WVU4GxOlNHs/VVHvIgsgAVI/AAAAAAAANhg/EdFEGDsMha0/s640/me%2Bnoah%2B3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /> I adore the moments snuggled up on my lap as I feel his warmth like a little hot water bottle, I love feeding him and knowing I can sooth him like no one else, I love the smiles and the wonder in his eyes. and I am trying to soak up all these moments as I know they are passing so very fast.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q10rTpNKI9Q/VVHvPRWL6KI/AAAAAAAANh0/50Nr1P7ON0E/s1600/mikeys%2Bbday%2B239.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q10rTpNKI9Q/VVHvPRWL6KI/AAAAAAAANh0/50Nr1P7ON0E/s640/mikeys%2Bbday%2B239.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"> Keep up to date with the baby days on my <a href="http://www.todaysmoments.co.uk/p/blog-page_2.html" target="_blank">Baby Days Tab</a></div><br /><br /><br /><br />Sarahmumof3http://www.blogger.com/profile/03928332640674423684noreply@blogger.com0
