The National Trust are Kean to help children get out and stay active this summer, they are offering 2 free children's entry tickets to loads of their attractions for every paying adult! Take a look the link to see whats on offer near you. Whether you want to go wild in the outdoors or discover a cool taste for history inside an ancient castle, make it a summer to remember.



Summer Reading challenge This Summer libraries across the nation are encouraging children to read during the Summer break by giving them the chance to embark on a 3 stage reading challenge. Children are encouraged to read 6 or more books of their choice to receive a variety of rewards including stickers bookmarks and medals. be sure to check what your local library has on offer.

Play Day 2011 This years National Day for Play is 3rd august, there are loads of free activities all over the country around National Play day, be sure to check out the Events list to find your local events!



Derbyshire Local Events on 3rd August

Play day at Burton Upon Trent, on the Burton Washlands (behind Meadowside Leisure Center)With the fun starting at 12pm including crafts, face paints, magic, music, sports, dance and much more.

Playday at Sudbury Hall, Museum of Childhood, 12-4pm Come and join us for magical themed play day! There will be arts and crafts, big games, a quest to find the dragons and much more.

Playday at Normanton Park, Derby 11am - 6pm, A family day of fun and activities, including inflatables, sports, face painting, Henna and much much more. 

Playday at Osmaston Park Derby,  11am - 5pm, Lots of family fun with facepainting, sports and inflatables

Playday at Coalville  Bagworth Surestart 1-3pm An event for local families to celebrate the importance of play and spending time together.
